Induction Day – Warrnambool Little Athletics
Induction Day – Warrnambool Little Athletics
On Sunday October 14th, Warrnambool Little Athletics will be holding our induction day.
All parents/carers of children intending to register, or interested in registering with Warrnambool Little Athletics for the 2018/19 season, are expected to attend.
Commencing at 10.30am we will cover what registering your child with Warrnambool Little Athletics involves for both the child and the parents/carers. This will include what to expect from the season, what opportunities there are and what duties are involved. We will also be able to answer any questions regarding registration at this time.
Parents/carers will then be able to choose the roles which they will be able to help out with on Friday nights.
Following this we will be running an introductory program for the kids. This will be the come and try opportunity for unregistered athletes and for those that are registered a chance to get back into the swing of things. As an added bonus for registered and paid athletes this will count as an official meet for the purposes of participating in regional competition.
We will also be using this session to demonstrate the basics of many of the adult roles which we need to fill each week. This ranges from raking a sand pit to operating the timing equipment.
Registrations are open now and if you have registered and paid by Friday October 12th, you will be able to pick up your registration patch at the Induction Day, ready for the start of the season.
The first full competitive meeting will be on Friday, October 19th.
Athletes not registered and paid will not be able to compete on Friday nights. If you are unsure whether your child wishes to register, you are welcome to come and watch prior to registering and if interested you can register and join in the next week.
We are all looking forward to a great season of track and field.
Regards
WLAC Committee
